Why bans never work, vaping ban will increase Pneumothorax.
My personal experience.
I know that all bans do is make many things worse. I know that from studying the prohibition of Alcohol and the drug war. These vaping deaths and illnesses are a symptom of black or grey market products. This should be evident by the following considerations.
- These deaths and illnesses came about after years of flavor vape, CBD and THC products.
- No products so far where bought from legal vendors, aka not made by a company like Juul.
- These are THC and CBD products which would be the preferred market of criminals since laws are still catching up.
- A federal law requiring states to allow THC and CBD to be produced legally by public companies would end the vaping deaths. We need the market solution.
- Banning anything relating to vaping will make the problem worse.
I vaped for a while and on occasion when some one offers a hit of their pen or mod I might oblige with no fear of Pneumothorax aka lung collapse. Vaping fluid is made of know substances like Vegetable Glycerin which is not oil. It is true that VG is processed from vegetable oil but is in fact a safe alcohol inhalant and food and medicine additive.
When I vaped I had those nice mods with big tanks and coils to match. I was one of those people who would smoke out a car with my brother and we felt no ill effects from vaping. I know plenty of people that also partook and they had no problems. This 800 sick and 12 dead sounds bad until you realize it is still statistically 0. A good solution is a PSA about illegal products and the dangers in smoking them. If you buy marijuana from a dispensary they wont be lacing their product but drug dealers have.
Bans on items ingested/bought by you are always bad.
Whether it is drugs, firearms or vape anything that is banned makes the problems worse. This is true for any product we own or item we smoke, drink or ingest. Regulating guns makes it harder for legal owners like me to own firearms and many millions of Americans but criminals do not car about abiding by the law.
The same is true for vaping and marijuana since these things are linked. THC and CBD are marijuana products but marijuana is not dangerous nor is CBD or THC. The next step is vaping fluid and the above website provides resources on what vape is made of and as a vaper I know that they are made of legal safe products that we have been eating, taking in medicine and more for years.
So when we look into the people and how they got sick we realize that they bought, by their own admission (83%) illegal THC products. They also were packaged and labeled like store bought products giving the illusion of professional origin.
Study hard and come to know as I do that these things are caused by the criminals making unsafe products with toxic chemicals and we need to legalize THC and CBD so that the availability of legal and safe product washes away the competition. Please share this so other can be informed.
