On Friday, police showed up to a young man’s workplace and tried to arrest him over social media posts reported to them by an old army buddy of the 28-year-old Afghanistan veteran. This man, known as Alex and popular on Instagram under the handle of WhiskeyWarrior556, slipped out of the back door, hurried home to check on his family where he found out police had already forced themselves into his home and confiscated his legal firearms after threatening his wife with calling child protective services to remove her newborn child. Alex then barricaded himself inside his own attic, unarmed. Law enforcement officers followed him, blocked off the road to all traffic and a seven-hour standoff began.
When it was over, the Putnam County Sheriffs, SWAT team and local police, armed with their own automatic rifles with 30 round magazines, arrested Alex for possessing a “high capacity magazine” for his legal AR-15. In New York, “high capacity magazines” are defined as any magazine that can hold more than seven rounds. Although a plastic box that holds 30 cartridges at one time are standard for this type of firearm, some lawmakers somewhere else believed they knew better and forced that decision upon this American war veteran.
Alex updated his followers on Instagram with video and commentary, also posting screenshots of his SMS conversation with police negotiators. Friends who were in contact with him also shared their conversations via social media. Alex told one friend that the man who called in the red flag law, lied to police by telling them that Alex suffered from PTSD. Putnam County Sheriffs reiterated this, claiming that this was a mental health issue, although offered no evidence of such an allegation.
“This is a person in crisis, having mental illness, having issues and he didn’t need the people on social media telling him that his rights are being violated. He needed help. Medical help.”
A statement from Police Chief Michael Cazzari of local Carmel Police made this statement.
Because armored vehicles and total barricades are needed when someone just needs “medical help.” Perhaps the police understood that illegally confiscating someone’s property might lead to violence.
WhiskeyWarrior556 finally gave in when police threatened once again to take his infant daughter from his and his wife’s custody and according to police, he was peacefully detained. Though charged with owning the “high capacity magazine,” no charges have been filed as a result of the standoff.
What transpired on Saturday was exactly what advocates of red flag laws have asked for. A militarized police force, ignoring due process completely, confiscated the property and the civil rights of a U.S. citizen because of nothing more than the opinion of an associate.
If the current legal landscape allows for citizens to have their Second Amendment rights stripped from them without any legal opportunity to dissent, what are the next rights to be taken? After all, our rights to speech or religion, or even due process itself, have no obligation to be respected by the government without the right to bear arms.
Every gun law, including the ones you agree with, is an infringement on our constitutional rights.

Opinion: from controversial-talk.com
There is no shortage of unconstitutional police in America. Police that do not care about violating the constitution. They either do not realize it or are fine with it. They enforce current laws without regard to whether they are constitutional. They arrest people and search their cars without warrants on a daily basis. We forget all too often that our nation is one built on freedom and liberty.
We get that freedom and liberty from God and Christian values. The example is that we all can listen to crappy vulgar and lewd music but when a christian listens to gospel or Christian rock/pop some one might take offense and then there is a choice, ban all the music or allow Christian music and bad music.
Our nation is no different. We have right because we have a supreme rights giver who cannot be told what to do by men. No court in the US or anywhere can deprive us of our rights. Any government who violates those rights is evil. There is no redeeming quality to hurting people. There is no merit in taking a right. Rights are always opposite of wrong that is why we called them rights.
Our rights, our definition.
No person in our government can ever tell us our rights. When they take office they lose the right to define. If they become they DA they should never be allowed to determine how much the second or fourth amendment protects. We often forget the sacrifice of our forefathers in defense of our liberty. We also forget our history. The history that would teach us, if we listen, how to avoid death and despotism.
No matter how well intentioned our current officials in local office are, they still intend to be masters over us. Who does there actions serve? Who does it benefit? Are poor and needy among the first to be helped by them? A good government should barley be seen or heard. They should never have will of their own to exert on us. They should always be a venue, a reactionary force we must first call upon.
I used to think that the rights views on policy issues with drugs were wrong and outdated. Many young people like me and older Americans as well are in favor of legalization. I once drove around with a legalize weed message on my rear windshield.
Then I realized where rights come from. We get all our rights from the Bible. There is no right to get drunk or high. You do have the right to smoke and drink. We connect the two but they do not require connection. You can get a buzz on alcohol and weed.
Laws should cover immoral acts that can lead to more severe acts. We should design our laws to dissuade people from making bad decisions. We should also have laws that prevent them from showing those bad choices openly to society as a whole.
A example should help. Today you laws that enforced mostly by police. In other words, government controls you. In a constitutional system you laws that can only be enforced by the people in the community where the law was broken.
Police today need very little evidence to come after you. A constitutional system would require substantial evidence to prove wrongdoing. Preventing “preventive” policing. We like to think that police make us safer. The problem is in the real world there two types of bad guys ones you can fight and ones you can’t (police). Now we have a government who can and does attack us more than criminals do.
I am no fool so I realize that most criminals are created not born. They are created by bad government policy in education and economy. This policy could be changed but is not. Since the system requires profit and control. Without modern police and government policy they lose their power, control and profit.
What is the bottom line for us? We must be moral to a fault if we want to break free from tyrannical laws. We need to be more responsible and accountable than police and government if we wish to move past them. We can and should work towards restoring the US Constitution and Declaration as bedrocks of this republic. We need them if we are ever to be free again. Most of all we need to know the constitution and our rights! Check out the links below for more education material on the subject. God bless and Share this article please, unless your a Tory (British sympathizer)?
Don’f forget to share this. Remember the future of the republic may depend on it.
What i do not realize is actually how you are not actually much more well-liked than you may be right now. You’re so intelligent.
