Facebook hoax ‘cancels’ election and faith in Mercer Government.

MERCER — The polls had been open for less than three hours when the Mercer County Election and Voter Registration Bureau had to address a problem that had nothing to do with the new voting system unveiled Tuesday.

Election and Voter Registration Director Jeff Greenburg learned that someone — an “idiot,” as he called the culprit — posted to Facebook that “the election had been postponed because of rain.”

“It seems that the individual thought it was funny, but this isn’t something to joke about,” Greenburg said

The Election and Voter registration director of Mercer county PA thinks that all the people in Mercer are basically retards. That is what he said in the Sharon Herald on Wednesday morning. “Greenburg, through Mercer County’s Twitter feed — in addition to being elections director, he’s also the county’s public information officer — countered the fake Facebook news report and informed the public that elections are more like football than baseball. The game goes on, rain or shine.”

How is a joke considered to be a “fake news report” when Greenburg admitted that the culprit thought it would be funny?

He had to waste our tax dollars to tell us this joke was not real. Let that sink in, he thinks we do not understand humor. Well he must be a democrat or a dumb republican since he cannot understand the joke either. We Pennsylvanians know PA has rainy miserable weather and we cope by making jokes.

He also had the post removed, but not before preserving it as a screenshot as evidence for submission to the office of District Attorney Peter Acker for possible prosecution. Greenburg also sent a copy of the screenshot to the Department of State, which oversees elections in Pennsylvania.

Now I personally would not care if the post was by a page admin or just a post the joke is still a funny joke and lets be serious, if some one was dumb enough to think rain cancels elections should they vote?

I as a (hypothetical) official of Government would assume my constituents were intelligent and informed enough not to need my constant coaxing correction and admonishment. I would leave the people alone!
